Correct the Wrong

Genesis 4:6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
Cain was upset because God had accepted Abel's offering but not his. God was telling Cain that if he did what was right, it will be accepted. He was also telling Cain that although sin is near, Cain must master it, overcome it. God was letting Cain know that because of not doing what was right [providing a worthy offering], Cain now felt angry, which could lead to sin. God was advising Cain to overcome the anger and do what was right in God's eyes.
There are so many times that because of our mistakes, we allow it to take us to a level of sin. It is time for us to look at the mistakes that are pointed out to us and find a way to overcome it. There is a saying, "learn from your mistakes". I believe we should take that to heart and use our mistakes to learn from them and correct them. We are always given the chance to try again, so we should take that chance instead of allowing our mistakes to lead us to sin.
Father,
I love how You can use stories from soooooo long ago to speak into our lives. Thank You! As I look back on my own life, I can see where I have allowed my mistakes lead me to sin. Please forgive me for not taking those opportunities to look at my mistakes and make the choice to choose Your way. It is time I consistently be honest with my mistakes, and take the opportunity to adjust according to Your will. Love You!

STRESS

Matthew 6:33  “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34  “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Jesus is telling us to chill out. Don't spend so much time worrying about what is going to happen next year, this year, or even tomorrow. He is telling us that as long as we focus on God, His kingdom, and His righteousness, everything that we need will be taken care of.

I need to stop worrying about what I'm going to be doing next week...next year...I need to stop worrying who I'm going to marry, what I'm going to do for the rest of my life. I need to stop thinking about that my quarter-of-century birthday and the fact that its coming up in less than two years. I need to chill out! and spend this time focusing on something bigger..greater! God's kingdom and His righteousness.

Lord!!

Forgive me for unnecessarily stressing. I know that just last week, I was worrying about not dating the person I am supposed to marry. I know I need stop doing that. So God, forgive me..I trust in You! I trust that You have EVERYTHING taken care of. Thank You!!

Your daughter on her knees,
AMEN

understanding.

Not quite in RICE/SOAP format

Psalm 6: 6 I am worn out from groaning;
all night long I flood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears.
7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow;

Lord God..
I feel like David..on a emotional roller coaster. I feel like I am doing and did everything that You wanted me to, but the results are no where near how I thought doing things Your way would end up being. Through it all..the attacks..the defeat..I still feel triumphant. I can't help but continue to praise You. I know that I may not understand everything now.. So, I will not longer cry out 'why!?', but I will cry out for understanding, cry out wisdom, for knowledge. Not any knowledge..but knowledge of You.
Proverbs 2:1  My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you,

2  Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
3  For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding;
4  If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5  Then you will discern the fear of the Lord And discover the knowledge of God.
