Words and Wisdom

Exodus 1; Exodus 2; Psalm 88; Luke 21

Luke 21:14But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. 17All men will hate you because of me. 18But not a hair of your head will perish. 19By standing firm you will gain life.

Jesus is reassuring those that are listening and us as we read this that when the time of persecution and imprisonment comes we should not worry. God will gives us the words and the wisdom that will dumbfound our enemies. Jesus also tells us that even those that are closest to us will persecute us. However, we should not worry, because if we stand strong we will not perish, but be given life.

We must remember to stand firm for our God. We must rememebr that we will be taken care of by Him and will be filled with wisdom and the right words when the time calls for it. Jesus has our backs, when we have His.

Lord,
I know that sometimes we forget to put our trust completely in You. We forget to rely solely on You and what You can do. However Lord, remind us that You are God and You will take care of us. I know that when the time comes and I need to right words to say, You will provide them, and I thank You for that. Lord, I pray to be filled with the words and the wisdom that will dumbfound those that are enemies to me and those that are adversaries to You. Lord when the time comes, take over my tongue and take over my mind. In Your awesome and mighty name,

Amen

REJECTION

Genesis 9; Genesis 10; Genesis 11; Luke 4

Luke 4:24"I tell you the truth," he continued, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown.

Sometimes feelings of rejection arise amongst the people that are closest to us.

I should not let that hinder my walk with God,however this should make me want to go out more... jesus was rejected even by those that were from his town, those that knew him growing up. However he did not give up healing, caring, sharing. He died for those that accepted him and those that rejected him.

Lord,
You are who I want to be like. Please give me your will and help me keep going even through rejection. Lord I want to be like you more and more. I love you

Amen

Curses for man

Genesis 3; Genesis 4; Genesis 5; Luke 2

Genesis 3:21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side [e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Knowing good and evil is not a benefit for us. From the beginning of mankind we have been cursed and banished from eating from the tree of life.

We must remember to have faith, to trust in the commandments of God. When we question it, when we go against it, that is when we are cursed. We have been cursed from the beginning of mankind, and no longer have the benefits that Adam and Eve had.

Lord,
I know that I live with many curses, curses that has been in my family from generation to generation. I will no longer question your commandments. I will follow them. I pray that through me, these curses will not continue for generations to come. Lord, thank you for not holding Adam's and Eve's curiosity against us and for giving us the option to end generational curses. I love You.

Amen
