By their Righteousness

Ezekiel 14:12-23 NIV

"The word of the Lord came to me: "Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its people and their animals, even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord. "Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate. "Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, 'Let the sword pass throughout the land,' and I kill its people and their animals, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved. "Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on it through bloodshed, killing its people and their animals, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Jobwere in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness. "For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments—sword and famine and wild beasts and plague—to kill its men and their animals! Yet there will be some survivors—sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought on it. You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign Lord."

The Lord is very clear when He states that if He decides to send judgement (sword, famine, wild beasts and plague) to a country, it does not matter if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it. Only their righteousness will save them, it cannot save others. My righteousness cannot save any one else. Nor can the righteousness of someone else save me.

We, as a country, deserve judgement. At anytime God can decide to send judgement. Will my righteousness, in the eyes of God, be enough for me to be a survivor? Are my conduct and my actions righteous? I must spend every opportunity to inspect myself. As a leader, I must emphasize that in no way can my righteousness vouch for them when judgement comes.

Lord God,
On that day You send judgement, I pray that my coduct and actions be consolation. I pray for righteousness in every aspect of my life. Let me constantly aware of where I stand with you. Teach me to be a reflection of not only your love, justice, mercy and grace, but of your righteousness.

Who's guiding your life?

Galatians 5:16-26 NLT

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

1 "Shout! A full-throated shout! Hold nothing back-a trumpet-blast shout! Tell my people what's wrong with their lives, face my family Jacob with their sins!2 They're busy, busy, busy at worship, and love studying all about me. To all appearances they're a nation of right-living people-law-abiding, God-honoring. They ask me, 'What's the right thing to do?' and love having me on their side.
3 But they also complain, 'Why do we fast and you don't look our way? Why do we humble ourselves and you don't even notice?' "Well, here's why: "The bottom line on your 'fast days' is profit. You drive your employees much too hard.4 You fast, but at the same time you bicker and fight. You fast, but you swing a mean fist. The kind of fasting you do won't get your prayers off the ground.5 Do you think this is the kind of fast day I'm after: a day to show off humility? To put on a pious long face and parade around solemnly in black? Do you call that fasting, a fast day that I, God, would like?
6 "This is the kind of fast day I'm after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts.7 What I'm interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families.8 Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage.

He weighs your HEART

Proverbs 21:2

2 All a man's ways seem right to him,
but the Lord weighs the heart.

People can find an excuse for doing almost anything, but God looks behind the excuses to the motives of the heart. We often have to make choices in areas where the right action is difficult to discern. We can help ourselves make such decisions by trying to identify our motives first and then asking, "Would God be pleased with my real reasons for doing this?" God is not pleased when we do good deeds only to receive something in return.

Where is your heart? What are your motives? Allow God to reveal your motives and see if they align with what He wants.

Last night. WOW. A 3 hr 45 minute prayer meeting. Once agian His presence showed up and everyone was literally floored! So much joy...i am still absolutely speechless

2012

Mark 13:32-37 NIV84

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.

“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back–whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ ”

Many have asked if the movie "2012" was accurate. They all want to know if the Mayans were correct about when the earth is going to end. According to this scripture, no one will know when Jesus is going to come back. No will know if it's gonna be next year, tomorrow, or within the next 5 minutes.

Due to the earthquakes and tsunamis that have been happening, spiritual eyes are beginning to open. Many are questioning if what they believe is correct. There are quite a few thinking that this is alll the beginning of the end of the world. In Mark 13:8 it also states that all these things (Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines) are the beginning of birth pains... so we can know one thing for sure.

Lord!
We know that we can never predict Your return. But You have commanded us to always be ready. I pray that the spiritual eyes of all become alert to Your return. I pray that I continue to live a lifestyle that is ready for You to come back. I am not afraid of Your return, for i know the promises You have supplied.

GROW UP

Proverbs 9:4 “Let all who are simple come in here!” 
she says to those who lack judgment. 
5 “Come, eat my food
and drink the wine I have mixed. 
6 Leave your simple ways and you will live;
walk in the way of understanding. 
Wisdom is calling, all who are listening. She is calling the simple, the ones who lack judgment to come and dine with her. She has commanded the ignorant to leave ingnorance and come to the way of understanding.
How long will we believe that "ignorance is bliss"!? Isn't it time we chose to leave the ways of our youth..the simpleton mindset of our past? When we decide to continue to life in what we call "bliss", we become foolish, we lack truth, knowledge and understanding. I no longer want to resort to my simple ways. I welcome wisdom, I welcome sound judgment. I will sit down and dine.
Lord..Oh Lord,
How many times I have wanted to resort to responding/reacting in a immature manner? How many times I have chosen to be deceived by the adulteress? No longer do I want to be distracted off the path of wisdom. Lord keep my eyes focused..protect me from the distractions. Give me wisdom, understanding, truth, and knowledge. Set me free from the desires of my youth. I am ready to GROW UP! =)

Leader for God or Leader for the People

Exodus 23:1 When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.”2 Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.”3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron.


Exodus 23:21 He said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?” 22 “Do not be angry, my lord,” Aaron answered. “You know how prone these people are to evil.23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.’ 24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!” 25 Moses saw that the people were running wild and that Aaron had let them get out of control and so become a laughingstock to their enemies.

Aaron, Moses brother, was placed in charge of the people while Moses and Joshua went up to speak with God. Aaron was their leader during that time. Aaron always sought for peace among people, so much that he allowed the people's fear and worries and sinful nature influence him as a leader. Aaron knew what was correct, however in order to please the people, Aaron created the Golden Calf. In doing so, Aaron's actions to please the people intensified..leading up to verse 25 where the people of Israel were running wild and now a joke to their enemies

I don't want to be a people pleaser. I know that sometimes there will be decisions that have to be made by me as a leader. I don't want to be so heavily influenced by those I am leading that I forget who I am leading for. I don't want to compromise the truths and laws of God, in order to win the favor of man.

Lord God!
Thank You for your deliverance. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for waking me up every morning and for giving me a place to lay my head every night. Thank You for the opportunities of redemption. I pray my Lord, that I will not be a leader for the people. I pray that in my actions, in my words, in my heart, and in my mind, I am a leader for You! I will not fear the disapproval of man and I will seek his approval, but I will fear You and seek Your heart, Your face, Your will.

the first missionaries instructions

Matthew 10:6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel.7 As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.9 Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; 10 take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep. 11 “Whatever town or village you enter, search for some worthy person there and stay at his house until you leave.12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting.13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you.14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.15 I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. 16 I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. 17 “Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues.18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 “A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household! 26 “So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. 32 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.  34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn “ ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter‑in‑law against her mother‑in‑law– 36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.’ 37 “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 40 “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.41 Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.”

Wow this is intense! This is Jesus explaining to the twelve disciples what He wanted them to do on the first ever missions trip. He told them to not go and be dramatic and try to change the unbelievers hearts, but to go to those who were lost right around them. He then tells them to not charge anyone, for they have received from Him freely, they should give freely. Jesus also tells them to not take any of their worldly possessions, there is no need to worry about money or extra clothes. He then explains to His disciples how to acquire a place to stay.
Jesus also warns them that being a missionary is a dangerous lifestyle, so His disciples should be aware and at the same time innocent of any offenses. He also said that they will get harassed and ridiculed by others who will report them into the authorities. He assures them that if at any time they get into trouble for preaching the message, they shall not worry, for the Holy Spirit will supply the words that are needed. He also warns them that they will be hated because they preach of Jesus. He also tells them that they will not get treated better than He was treated, and they should be satisfied with getting treated the same way. In the same way they call Him names, they may call the disciple names. Jesus tells His disciples to not be afraid, that everything will be out in the open eventually and people will know the truth. So don’t be afraid to speak the truth now. He also tells them that they should not fear PEOPLE who can only kill the body, but they should live in fear of the One who can determine where the soul and body goes.
Jesus then talks about their importance to God. How something that is worth HALF  penny will not die, unless it is the will of God. Since we are worth more than a sparrow, if we stand up for Christ here on earth, then surely He will stand up for us in Heaven, but if we disown Him, then He will disown us.
He then addresses their misconception of Him. He tells them that He has nto come to make our lifestyle all fine and dandy, but He has come to cut us away from our fathers, mothers, children, and in-laws. So that we would have freedom in Christ. For there will be times where our enemies will come from the very ones who are in our familes. It is important for us to love Christ more than we love our families. We have to go all the way for God.
Lastly, He tells them that anyone who accepts them [as disciples] accepts Him and accepts His Father. He then says that those that treat the messengers of God well will not lose out on the reward awaiting.


I loved reading this!! I definitely need to take this into my Spirit so that I can apply it to my life, for I feel we are all called to missions. Right now at this season, I know I am called to home missions [HRC!] with small foreign mission trips. Jesus has asked us to simultaneously go to all areas of the world [Matthew 28]. So no matter where my missions field is, I know that I can definitely apply Matthew 10 to my life!

Lord God!! We are all told to GO. I know it wasn't a suggestion, it was a command, and Lord I embrace that command! I shall not fear those who are against me because I preach the good news. I will not worry about what to say, for I know Your Holy Spirit will speak through me. I will no longer worry about provisions, cause Lord You are enough. Keep shaping me into the disciple..into the missionary..into the woman of God, You want me to be. I am ready to be a Lioness for Your kingdom, and I am ready for the earth to shake under my roar for You!!

Correct the Wrong

Genesis 4:6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” 
Cain was upset because God had accepted Abel's offering but not his. God was telling Cain that if he did what was right, it will be accepted. He was also telling Cain that although sin is near, Cain must master it, overcome it. God was letting Cain know that because of not doing what was right [providing a worthy offering], Cain now felt angry, which could lead to sin. God was advising Cain to overcome the anger and do what was right in God's eyes.
There are so many times that because of our mistakes, we allow it to take us to a level of sin. It is time for us to look at the mistakes that are pointed out to us and find a way to overcome it. There is a saying, "learn from your mistakes". I believe we should take that to heart and use our mistakes to learn from them and correct them. We are always given the chance to try again, so we should take that chance instead of allowing our mistakes to lead us to sin.
Father,
I love how You can use stories from soooooo long ago to speak into our lives. Thank You! As I look back on my own life, I can see where I have allowed my mistakes lead me to sin. Please forgive me for not taking those opportunities to look at my mistakes and make the choice to choose Your way. It is time I consistently be honest with my mistakes, and take the opportunity to adjust according to Your will. Love You!

STRESS

Matthew 6:33  “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34  “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Jesus is telling us to chill out. Don't spend so much time worrying about what is going to happen next year, this year, or even tomorrow. He is telling us that as long as we focus on God, His kingdom, and His righteousness, everything that we need will be taken care of. 

I need to stop worrying about what I'm going to be doing next week...next year...I need to stop worrying who I'm going to marry, what I'm going to do for the rest of my life. I need to stop thinking about that my quarter-of-century birthday and the fact that its coming up in less than two years. I need to chill out! and spend this time focusing on something bigger..greater! God's kingdom and His righteousness.

Lord!!

Forgive me for unnecessarily stressing. I know that just last week, I was worrying about not dating the person I am supposed to marry. I know I need stop doing that. So God, forgive me..I trust in You! I trust that You have EVERYTHING taken care of. Thank You!!
